魅力的なセッションが同時進行

いよいよD23 EXPO 2015まであと約３週間となりました．メインとなるセッションのスケジュールが発表され，内容も明らかになりつつあります．今回のEXPOは，セッションが行われる会場が新設のHALL D23を含めて３つあり，各会場で同時進行されます．ということは，聞きたいセッションが同時に行われる場合，どちらかを選びどちらかを捨てなければいけません！そんなわけで今回は，時間がかぶっていて，かつ，個人的にどちらにも参加したいセッションたちをメモ書き程度に紹介します．皆さんならどれを選びますか…？

8/14(金) レジェンド授賞式 or マペッツのヒミツ

8/14の初っ端，”Disney Legends Awards”と”The Magic Behind the Muppets”が被ります．

”Disney Legends Awards”は毎度おなじみDisney Legends授賞式です．このセッションでは伝説級の著名人たちのスピーチを生で聴ける滅多とない機会なので外したくないところ．今回の授賞者たちもすごいからなぁ…

 

そしてその裏で行われるのが”The Magic Behind the Muppets”です．

Calling all Muppet fans! Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work with the Muppets? Here’s your chance to find out firsthand when ABC presents a panel on the magic and art of being a Muppet Performer. Join these creative artists and some of your favorite characters, along with a few surprise guests, for a rare and unforgettable demonstration of what it takes to bring these iconic and enduring personalities to life.

クリエイター，パフォーマー，サプライズゲストが登場するらしい．abcのTVシリーズとしてマペッツたちが戻ってくるタイミングでのこのセッションなので，こちらもぜひ聴いておきたいところ．

8/15(土) マーベル，スター・ウォーズ実写 or ブロードウェイ

そして２日目の午前に，”Worlds, Garaxies, and Universes: Live Action at the Walt Disney Studios”とDisney on Broadway: “The Originals”が被ります．おい！

“Worlds, Garaxies, and Universes: Live Action at the Walt Disney Studios”に関しては詳しく発表されていませんが，おそらくスター・ウォーズとマーベルの実写に関するセッションだと思われます．コミコン行きてーよ！

 

そしてその裏でDisney on Broadway: “The Originals”です．おい！こちらはディズニーのブロードウェイミュージカルの舞台裏とインタビューと共に，ライブパフォーマンスが行われるとのこと．ミュージカル好きとしてはこちらも外せない．

8/15(土) テーマパーク部門 or ピクサーのヒミツ

苦悩の午前中を過ごした後で，午後には”Walt Disney Parks and Resorts”と”PIXAR Secrets Revealed! Hear the Stories They Didn’t Want You To Know!”が被ります．体が２つあればいいのに！

Walt Disney Parks and Resortsは説明不要ですね．テーマパーク部門の今後の展望やらが発表されるセッションです．おそらく上海ディズニーランドが中心になるのかな？

そしてその裏で行われるのが”PIXAR Secrets Revealed! Hear the Stories They Didn’t Want You To Know!”です．

Ever wonder where your favorite Pixar stories began? Hear the stories you don’t know about the classic films that you love. Pixar senior development executive Mary Coleman hosts this experience, welcoming the storytellers behind some of Pixar’s most successful films, including Darla K. Anderson (A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc., Cars, Toy Story 3), Mark Andrews (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Brave), Ronnie del Carmen (Up, Inside Out), and Dan Scanlon (Cars, Toy Story 3, Monsters University), as they talk about the twists and turns of crafting a narrative and share some of the crazy story ideas that didn’t make the final cut.

…とのことで，crazy storyに惹かれないわけがない！むむむむむむむむむむ．

 

8/16(日) ゲーム or シリー・シンフォニー or ショートフィルム

そして３日目の午前は，”It’s Game Time: Disney Interactive Takes The Stage”と”Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration”と”The Shorts of Walt Disney Animation Studios: From Paperman to Prep & Landing, Feast to Frozen Fever”の３つが被ります．体が２つでも足りない！

 

“It’s Game Time: Disney Interactive Takes The Stage”はDisney Infinity 3.0 Edition, Star Wars™ Battlefront™とKINGDOM HEARTS IIIに関するセッションです．ディズニー・インタラクティブは個人的に研究分野として興味があるのでできれば聴いておきたいところ．

 

そしてその裏で，１回目の”Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration”が行われます．レナード・マルティンがプレゼンターをつとめ，オーケストラによる生演奏でシリー・シンフォニーを鑑賞する，というもの．

 

またまたその裏では，”The Shorts of Walt Disney Animation Studios: From Paperman to Prep & Landing, Feast to Frozen Fever”が行われます．日本でも8月に発売されるショートフィルム集に合わせたセッションで，90年以上の歴史を辿り制作背景を巡る，というもの．

8/16(日) ミッキーマウス・クラブ or 音楽

そして３日目の最後には”Celebrating Walt Disney’s MICKEY MOUSE CLUB- 60 Magical Years”と”The Tunes Behind the Toons”が被ります．

“Celebrating Walt Disney’s MICKEY MOUSE CLUB- 60 Magical Years”はミッキーマウス・クラブ60周年を記念するセッション．Come along and sing the song and join the jamboree!

その裏で行われるのが”The Tunes Behind the Toons”です．

D23 EXPO invites you to a special screening and Q&A panel for The Tunes Behind the Toons, a short form documentary that celebrates the power of music in animation. From the silent film days when organists played live accompaniments, to the music within today’s animated features, this documentary traces the origins of cartoon music and its pioneers. Featuring interviews with Alan Menken, Randy Newman, Patrick Doyle, Mark Watters, Bruce Broughton, Richard Sherman, and many others. Producer/director Dave Bossert will lead a star-studded Q&A following the presentation.

こちらはアニメーションにおける音楽の力を祝うドキュメンタリー形式，とのこと．名だたる作曲家たちのインタビューを含むもので，Q&Aコーナーもあるみたいなのでこちらもぜひ聴いておきたいところ．

結論

体が３つくらいあればいいのに．ただひとつ言えるのは，どのセッションを選んでも楽しめることは間違いないということ．ギリギリまで悩み抜きましょう．
